About the Competition
April 24th 2022

Style To Rescue is an innovative way of supporting rescue organisations and helping rescues find their new forever homes.

The dogs are groomed beautifully by experienced, professional groomers and spoiled to bits with care and loving-kindness. Of paramount importance to us is that the dogs being groomed always feel safe and loved before, during and after the groom!

The rescues centres receive financial support whether their dogs win or not!

The competition schedule can be found here.

Style to Rescue is run on a not for profit basis by volunteers.

The Judges

We are very pleased to announce that our two judges in 2020 will be Lisa Hart and Joanne Angus.

Lisa Hart is a multi award winning groomer with over 10 years experience in grooming and 18 years working with and handling animals. She was named Asian Fusion Groomer of the year in 2019. She now specializes in Asian Fusion grooming styles and has a particular interest in grooming Schnauzers and Terriers. Lisa started competing two years ago and has gone on to win classes at The British Dog Grooming Championships, Strictly Come Grooming, Supergroom and The Champion class at Groom Asia 2018, with multiple other placings in Asian fusion and terrier classes. She is highly honored to have been asked to judge at Style to Rescue 2020, after working at Manchester and Cheshire dogs home and also volunteer grooming for them and Doodle aid for many years. Rescue dogs and charity work hold a special place in her heart.

Joanne Angus has won awards throughout the world. She won Groomer of the Year twice in both 1991 and 2001, as well as winning a gold medal at Intergroom USA in the International Poodle class beating her poodle mentor Philip Langdon into second place! She sat on the committee for the then Pet Care Trust and was on the team that designed and formed the Guild of Master Groomers and was lead examiner for many years. She also examines the City & Guilds Level 3 Diploma.

In 2007 Joanne formed Groom Team England with four others, going on to captain and coordinate the team for 10 years - a team that travelled all over Europe competing and earning placings in their events.

2014 saw the opportunity for a new business venture; to become an approved City & Guilds Centre and Summit Groomer Training Group was born. Summit is now one of the major City & Guilds approved centres working with 22 different grooming schools up and down the country delivering the best in tuition and qualifications.
