STREET DOG TO SCHOOL DOG
Adam is doing some fascinating work with his rescue pointer Angus and vulnerable adults and children.
Content covered during the seminar will be:
· Introduction to Angus - Including background behind "Rehoming Cyprus Pointers", the work they do and the role of rescues in Cyprus
· How it all began – This will cover how Adam & Angus started to work with vulnerable adults/children, some of the key behaviours required and what training was needed. He will also talk briefly about the possible welfare issues for dogs working in this role
You will then look at - The value of a dog in a classroom of children with emotional disorders. Case studies will be used to support Adam's findings
He will then introduce some of the key topics that he teaches in schools and with vulnerable people which includes;
· We don’t share a common language with dogs so why is our bond so strong with them?
This will lead him to an introduction to emotions. And finally, we will talk about behavioural influencers
